Slip sliding away.

The first run of the 2nd week of 16 weeks of training.
The marathon still seems so far away.

I finally managed to run from my parents house. I had been for nearly a week but the pavements and roads were just too icy. There was still icy underfoot tonight but I only slipped a couple of times.

It was a comfortable 5 miles and I have run the route before. It starts of with a couple of steep hills which always give me second thoughts as I run up them but once I am over them and a mile in, things get better.
It's downhill for another mile then 3 miles flat home.

The only real difficulty is, because it is through the centre of town, whether to slow down and when to stop for traffic. I hate having to stop for cars, it really breaks up the rhythm and I find it hard to start again.

Tomorrow looks like it's going to be a difficult 9 miles. See you back here then.
