OK, I know it's Tuesday but I cheated. Today I should have been running the complicated tempo run (Fast/slow/fast etc) but I had been a bad man at lunchtime.
As you may know I'm currently off work this week and this is playing havoc with my diet. That isn't a "trying to lose weight" diet but a "don't eat too much rubbish food while training for a marathon" diet. When I am at work there are set break times and I usually bring food from home. When I am home the cake shop is just around the corner.
So today I went into the city to window shop and at lunchtime the smell of that secret blend of 11 herbs and spices proved too much and I succumbed. Feeling guilty even as I was eating, I decided that trying to run fast after eating would be a mistake and so settled on changing the runs around by a day.So just the steady 8 miles it was.
It also got me thinking more about my diet, which I think will be the subject of a future blog.
